**Your Garden, Your Eden

Ygyecover

In my book I ask you to look with new eyes at the Bible stories you’ve heard and read all your life through a new perspective – that of the Plant Kingdom.

This isn't just about gardening it's about metaphor.

Metaphor is the spiritual language of the Bible meaning there’s more to it than meets the eye. What is the meaning of the word metaphor? It's as if to answer the question What does it really say? Metaphors from Jesus' mouth came many times in response to a question put to him by those with whom he mingled. His answers were always a story using examples of everyday life in terms they could understand. For example, when asked what the kingdom of heaven is like, he used the analogy of bridesmaids not planning ahead for their wedding and being short of oil for their lamps. The bridegroom was delayed, showed up at night and the bridesmaids were not able to find him because of darkness. What had a wedding to do with the kingdom of heaven? Be ready, you never know when your time has come. Darkness represents the lack of knowledge and faith; the latter of which will light up the darkness.

The hearers were to thoughtfully place themselves in the story and see what it meant to them personally and how they might obtain unity with their spiritual source.
